THE NOUE - MAIN
This traditional pile carpet technique has hardly changed for centuries and is carried out on vertical looms by talented craftsmen.
The drawing, at scale1, made in color on squared paper (each square corresponding to a knot) is entirely drawn and colored by hand, point by point.
The knotter will follow him from his loom and tie the corresponding wool or viscose threads on the warp threads by forming a row of loops around a rod. The latter is then packed with a mallet and the loops cut to form the pile of the carpet.
